Our new assessment practices

What to expect

You will be asked the following questions at the time of booking and when you arrive for the assessment.

  • “Are you or any members of your household experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 (including cough, temperature, or loss of taste/smell)?”
  • “Has anyone experienced symptoms within the last 2 weeks?”

Please call us in advance of your appointment if the answer to the above questions is ‘Yes’, as we will be happy to re-arrange the testing.

Before your assessment

  • We will send you a questionnaire electronically (usually via email). Please complete this and return electronically. This will minimise the amount of paperwork that is shared. We will then contact you via telephone/online meeting if we need to clarify anything with you prior to the testing.

On arrival at the building

  • Adults will need to wear a face-covering on entering the building and during the assessment.
  • When you arrive at the building, please remain in your car and call the Centre on 0114 2656991, just before your appointment time. Please do not come into the reception area before your appointment time, or before you have been informed that we are ready for you.
  • If you need to use public transport to attend the appointment, please let us know in advance, so that we can make separate arrangements for your arrival.
  • If your appointment is for a child, only one adult may enter the building with the child. If the appointment is for an adult (18+) we ask that only yourself enters the building.
  • You will be required to use hand sanitiser when you enter the building and when you reach the 3rd floor, (where our office is located).

Our new look assessment room

  • Protective screens added to desks.
  • Hand sanitiser available for use.
  • Our assessors will be wearing face masks, we also do weekly COVID tests.
  • Our assessment material and all surfaces will be cleaned prior to each appointment and after.
